The good advice is from a book I am exploring which was written by a doctor who specialized in the treatment of allergies. The book is called Dr. Mandell's Allergy-Free COOKBOOK. Some of it's advice I cannot actually follow, as it is stated, due to already knowing I am allergic to some things included in the eating plans. Fortunately, other bits of advice and common sense cover this.
Now, first of all, let me state that I am not going to purposely advocate any particular style of eating for anyone - such as raw vegan, Paleo, Keto, grain free, wheat free, The Zone, South Beach- because, I know two things. One is that we are ant all the same. We have access to different qualities of foods, different burdens, different physical needs. So, it is patently ridiculous to think there is only one way to eat.
Also, I believe in the Bible and ,yes, I know that I should, because, I tried it and it worked out well, and, because, I have seen proof from scholars, medical professionals of varying sorts and laymen that it has worked for them, as well. And, a lot of those diets are firmly against the Bible.
Oh, they are not against the Bible as something to do to improve one's health by utilizing their eating strategies for a while. It's not a sin to use the good advice from them.
Where they go against the Bible is, again, in making unclean the things that God has made clean.
Acts 10 10 But he became very hungry and wanted to eat. While they were preparing the meal, he fell into a trance 11 and saw heaven opened and something descending like a great linen sheet being let down by its four corners on the earth; 12 and in it were all sorts of four-footed animals and reptiles of the earth and birds of heaven. 13 Then a voice said to him: “Get up, Peter, slaughter and eat!” 14 But Peter said: “Not at all, Lord, because I have never eaten anything defiled and unclean.” 15 And the voice spoke again to him, the second time: “Stop calling defiled the things God has cleansed.” 16 This happened a third time, and immediately it was taken up into heaven.
Only, in the case of the diets, they are making unclean even things that Jehovah God had never set aside as unclean and uneatable for even a small time. Some diets say never to eat fruit or never to eat grains Others say never to eat animals, fish or grains. What does the Bible say?
Genesis 2: 9 Thus Jehovah God made to grow out of the ground every tree that was pleasing to look at and good for food and also the tree of life in the middle of the garden and the tree of the knowledge of good and bad.
Genesis 2: 15 Jehovah God took the man and settled him in the garden of Eʹden to cultivate it and to take care of it. 16 Jehovah God also gave this command to the man: “From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction.
Genesis 1: 29 Then God said: “Here I have given to you every seed-bearing plant that is on the entire earth and every tree with seed-bearing fruit. Let them serve as food for you. 30 And to every wild animal of the earth and to every flying creature of the heavens and to everything moving on the earth in which there is life, I have given all green vegetation for food.” And it was so.
So, in the beginning, mankind was meant to eat seed-bearing fruit from trees and seed-bearing plants. Which is, what? Sounds like grains and pseudo-grains, berries, nuts and such as that, to me. At this point, flesh was not eaten. But, then the Flood came and at the end of Noah's journey in the ark, came also this:
Genesis 9: 3 Every moving animal that is alive may serve as food for you. Just as I gave you the green vegetation, I give them all to you. 4 Only flesh with its life —its blood —you must not eat
Deuteronomy 6: 3 Hear therefore, O
Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that
ye may increase mightily, as Jehovah, the God of thy fathers, hath
promised unto thee, in a land flowing with milk and honey
2 Kings 7:1 E·liʹsha now said,
“Listen to the word of Jehovah. This is what Jehovah says:
‘Tomorrow about this time at the gate of Sa·marʹi·a, a seah
measure of fine flour will be worth a shekel, and two seah measures
of barley will be worth a shekel.’”
1st Samuel 25:18 So
Abʹi·gail quickly took 200 loaves of bread, two large jars of
wine, five dressed sheep, five seah measures of roasted grain, 100
cakes of raisins, and 200 cakes of pressed figs and put all of it on
the donkeys.
Mark 6:41 Taking now the five loaves
and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing. Then
he broke the loaves up and began giving them to the disciples to
place them before the people, and he divided up the two fish for all.
42 So they all ate and were satisfied,
Matthew 26: 26 As they continued eating, Jesus took a loaf, and after saying a blessing, he broke it, and giving it to the disciples, he said: “Take, eat. This means my body.” 27 And taking a cup, he offered thanks and gave it to them, saying: “Drink out of it, all of you, 28 for this means my ‘blood of the covenant,’ which is to be poured out in behalf of many for forgiveness of sins. 29 But I say to you: I will by no means drink again any of this product of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in the Kingdom of my Father.”

What does all this mean? People ate
fruit, vegetables, meat, dates, figs, and honey. Even under the
Mosaic Law, which restricted scavenger meats, there was still flesh
foods of all sorts, including milk from animals. Jesus Christ
offered, from his own hand, cooked food, in the form of bread, which
is grains. He also offered the flesh of fish. He partook of lamb,
bitter greens, bread and wine at the same meal. He encouraged others
to eat bread, lamb, bitter greens, fish and wine. Therefore, none of
this is wrong, in and of itself. And, no one should teach that it is
wrong for all of mankind to partake of any of these in a reasonable,
non-gluttonous, non-cruel manner.
So, it is not wrong to be a vegan or a vegetarian, for the sake of promoting a lack of cruelty toward both animals and humans. But, it is wrong to say “meat is murder” under all circumstances, as if animals are not something mankind was allowed to partake of the flesh of, as needed, by the one true God.
It is not wrong to say that you find eating raw vegetables to eating cooked foods, especially meat. But, it is wrong to censure the Son of Man for eating lamb and bread.
To my way of thinking, unless you have reason to believe you have an allergy (intolerances count), or, simply desire not to eat certain foods for your own reasons, this eschewing categories of foods is simply a distraction from the true cause(s) of one's illness, stress and/or weight gain.
Now, does that mean I think it is wrong to try to eat ketogenically for an extended period of time, if it works for you? No. I don't think it is wrong. I think it is unnecessary. And, to simplify one's life is to cut out the unnecessary, as much as possible, unless it is at least so enjoyable that it is not a burden.
IE: It is necessary to wear clothes to adhere to the laws of most places. Wearing colors that flatter your coloring in styles that make your figure look good is not necessary, but, it helps you get along in the world and makes you happier, so, it's good to do.
So, these are the reasons I reject the concepts behind most eating strategies, but, why I don't necessarily reject the actual strategies.
I realize I haven't actually gotten into the book, yet. But, reasons should be explored and if people cannot give you good reasons for what they do (or, want you to do) they probably shouldn't be in your life.
The end, for now.
