Sept. 7, 2018 : It's 4:44 p.m. I finished eating a wee bit ago, but, since I was not paying attention, I will just call it 4:45 p.m. Besides the chicken sandwich (which was so tasty!) I had some Ramen noodles and the little pecan pie. Then, I read the ingredient list (such as I could manage) of the Ramen noodle package, and, reminded myself why I should not be eating them.
For the record, there is a much better class of Ramen noodle that can and probably should be eaten. It's also more expensive and takes a bit longer to prepare. I keep forgetting to get some!
Sept. 8, 2018 : It's 6:22 a.m. Still fasting. Despite that the meal was well over 500 calories, it seems to have been a small bump on a large highway. Which is to say, I woke up this morning with a well-coated tongue and when I spit, what came off my tongue just looked nasty. Plus, when I peed, it was really dark. I feel like a person who is detoxifying.
Beginning to question MSG and what they've been telling us about it. Oh,okay, not beginning ...beginning to do it seriously enough to do a little research. I have been somewhat questioning it for the duration.
For a while, they had me believing it was true that MSG would make me sick, bloated, etc. Then I found out that I was getting sick at restaurants that stopped using it and started using more soy sauce. So ...
I was eating quite a bit of Ramen, when I lost over 100 lbs. I'd put garlic, garlic powder, olive (or, some other), oil, curry powder, lemon and/or lime juice. Eat it with salad or make it into a big dish with cooked veggies. It was usually the Lime and Chili Shrimp Cup O' Noodle. Yesterday it was the Habanero Lime Chili Shrimp flavor package that is a rectangle of noodles in a plastic package.
For one thing, if MSG is so bad for me, then, why did I get ill at the Asian restaurant that said "No MSG" and not the one that did still have it? And, why am I detoxifying more today than yesterday? And, why is it I kept seeing thin Asian people who were either visiting or newly moved to this area, who were eating these same sort of Ramen noodles, with delight, without fear?
They sell them in Asian markets. If they were not selling, they'd get rid of them and then there'd be no more in the store.
And, I have watched Asian films where they are eating the Ramen. In Castaway on the Moon, the man is fantasizing about some black bean paste version. Or, something like that.
There's a lot of thin Asians in Asia, in Asian movies, in Asian markets, visiting Circle K's in Tucson. Eating Ramen noodles, which have MSG.
An old diet book that I used to have - Mom had a copy, long ago, which someone stole; then I bought two copies, a couple of years ago, and they were stolen, too - that was written by a doctor who worked with many celebrities and rich people, specifically told people to use MSG. He said using MSG was a great idea, as it made food tastier. This would make you feel more satisfied with a reasonable portion of healthy food, was the idea.
He also told people to stop eating white foods (anything made with refined flour, potatoes, starchy things), to eat lots of vegetables, to eat less meat and many other unpopular things. Most of which used to be laughed at, but, are considered very good advice, now.
Back when they started telling people not to use MSG, that was when they started pushing low-fat, lots of grains, low salt, no eggs at all, chicken over beef, no nuts or seeds, no avocados, and, when hydrogen peroxide therapy was still banned as being poisonous to the body.
Ask the Diet Doctor: The Truth About MSG
The article above says that there is no scientific proof that MSG is bad for people, in the majority.
The one below says, to me, that MSG may be the reason why Asians are pushing ahead in education and looking young far longer than other people.
MSG good for the brain, good for the flesh
Since MSG is supposed to be derived by the overcooking of foods, this could explain why 1) people loved Cajun food so well and 2) the powers that be started blasting real barbecues (seared meat) and Cajun food.
For anyone who cares to argue some point about MSG, I do not know and am not saying that MSG is ONLY derived by overcooking foods. But,I know for a fact,I read articles, scientific and less scientific, which said it was so.
Well, this is getting pretty long, so, I think I'll call it a post!
Oh! By the way, my belly is feeling a little bloated in that way I think of as "the gathering storm". I measured my waist and it was 43.5" Half an inch bigger. But, I'm not worried.
One time when I was fasting (I think I was dry fasting)my waist kept getting bigger and bigger- a half inch here, a quarter inch there- for days. Then,I ate something, had a terrible experience in the bathroom and ended up with a smaller waistline than before I started the fast.
Apparently, sometimes, my body needs time to gather up its toxins and bundle them together before it decides to toss them out. Weird, but, apparently, true.
The uptake of all of this -what I wrote above and thought about, etc.- is that we are going to be eating more Ramen,as part of a mostly vegan diet. That will still include awesome pizzas with pepperoni and sausage, at some point. Probably.
Have a lovely day!
............................
Spoke too soon. Typed too soon? Anyway ....
Around 11:30 a.m., I ate a few bites of sandwich. I will probably eat a salad and maybe a thing or two that is stupid, later on. Partly because I just went grocery shopping and I got some things I have been wanting a wee while, now. And, partly because I am going out to Mom and Dad's to work hard, tomorrow. It will be a bit of a family gathering and I selected sandwich things and vegetables, plus chips, for the event.
I intend to work and eat tomorrow, and, I don't want my gut doing its "I'm not used to eating!" demands for constant bathroom attendance. So, I will eat some today, some tomorrw, and, maybe fast again on Wednesday.
Now, have a lovely day!
