Rainbows and Triangles

As a side note, because I wa reminded of this by talk of rainbow flags and triangles, I had a bit of an argument with a person who is a friend of the family, mostly spending time with oen of my sisters - this was years ago, now- because, she was wearing a purple triangle. Well, it wasn't because she was wearing it, which would have been a little weird unless she just loved a good triangle shaped piece of jewelry, but because she said it represented lesbian oppression under Hitler's reign of terror against the LBGTQ (etc).

1. There was no LBGTQ political party back then.
2. Hitler never targeted lesbians. That is he targeted a few people who happened to also be lesbians, but he did not target them for lesbianism. He targeted them for propaganda against his reign of terror, which was:
3. Not a reign of terror against JUST people who are now in the LGBTQ political party. It was against anyone who wasn't Aryan. The first peoples targeted were not homosexuals, for instance, but they were the disabled people, Jehovah's Witnesses and Jews. The ones that most people would agree are difficult and get some sort of special privilege. He also targeted people of other political parties, but they could switch instead of die, and he targeed kids who listen to Swing music even if they would otherwise make good Aryans, because, they were mixing negroids and caucasian values together. Hence why there is a movie called Swing Kids, that more people should watch.

But, mostly:
4. The purple triangle is the sign of Jehovah's Witnesses oppression under Hitler's reign of terror. And :

5. It is really extremely gross not only to take something that represents someone else and use it for your own agenda, but :

6. It is actually part of your own reign of terror when you use that symbol to try to obliterate the meaning of another people by actually using what symbolizes them to symbolize something that is not only not part of their lifestyle, but not having it as any part of their lifestyle is an integral part of their lifestyle.

Which, in a different way goes for the rainbow, too.

The Rainbow Coalition, which I have heard LGBTQ members claim is about their movement, was about promoting race relations in a positive manner.

Also, Jssephine Baker had her "rainbow family" which was, if I remember correctly, the inspiration for the the Rainbow Coalition, where Josephine Baker purposely adopted children of different races for the sake of raising different races of children together in harmony. The LGBTQ has spoken of themselves as "family", "family under ther rainbow" and "the rainbow family" But they are not.

The orginal rainbow family was the ENTIRE EARTH, because, that promise was to everyone. You could say it was most especially for Noah's bloodline, though. However, that is also everyone on the planet right now.

Josephine Baker was in some way honoring the intention of the maker of the rainbow and mankind. So was the Rainbow Coalition.

The end.

Matthew 1:24-25:

 NIV:
24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25 But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

NCB:
24 When Joseph rose from sleep, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him. He took Mary into his home as his wife, 25 but he engaged in no marital relations[a] with her until she gave birth to a son, whom he named Jesus

RSVCE:
24 When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him; he took his wife, 25 but knew her not until she had borne a son;[a] and he called his name Jesus.

WYC:

24 And Joseph rose [up] from sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took Mary, his wife; [Soothly Joseph rising up from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord bade him, and took his wife;]

25 and he knew her not, till she had born her first begotten son, and he called his name Jesus.

YLT

24 And Joseph, having risen from the sleep, did as the messenger of the Lord directed him, and received his wife,

25 and did not know her till she brought forth her son -- the first-born, and he called his name Jesus.
KJV

24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus.
NWT

  • 24 Then Joseph woke up from his sleep and did as the angel of Jehovah had directed him, and he took his wife home. 25 But he did not have sexual relations with her until she gave birth to a son,+ and he named him Jesus.+

There's another fine myth shattered by a little light reading. Imagine what studying would get you?

Who am I

Who am I and who do I want to be? There is no denying the reality of what I have allowed into my life, or what has shaped me as a tsunami shapes the city it invades and the beach it litters with the stolen dead.

I cannot say I am not what I so obviously have inside me, have taken into me. Lovers, growth of children, poisonous cocktails of misery and munchable bits of detris called foodstuff; along with rapists, terrible opinions, sadness, loss.

Yet, there is also memory of self-discovery and even in a broken state of being, there are times when enough has been enough and I do or say a thing and my heart quickens, I become alive and fall in love, because "Ah! There I am, still!"

I do still exist, separate from the mistery, pain and aging. I do exist apart from the disdain and lack of belief . I have loved and been loved, I have done well and with kindness as surely as I fared poorly and had occasion for ill intent toward another.

So, who am I? I am a girl who wants to travel the world, book in hand. I am a writer, a rock star, a builder of mud huts and a garden-seeking meditation technician. I am my interests and my loves.

I am a monk on a horse, restraining from flailing you because God exists. I am an innocent child on her knees in heartfelt prayer. A commander and chief, a housewife, a bard.

I am where I take me and what I make me. I am the clay for the potter, because, I have given myself into His hands.

I am the sum of my existence, with the minuses caused by exemption from sin for repentance.

Who do I want to be? I want to be the person who has mastery over this intellect, who can wabi sabi this broken being. I want to be me, made perfect in weakness.

There is a reason ....

.. that the word is "mold" and not "bend".

We ask Jehovah God to mold us to his will. We ask this, because, we are promised it is a thing that can be done and we have a reason to believe it will be better than the world or even ourself shaping us to a different will.

Jehovah could, by the strength of his power, bend everyone and everything to his will. It has been proven that he can do so and will do so, enough to protect his people when it is time for their protection. He does not do so at any other time, to any other degree. He does, however, mold his servants to his will, and they like it that way.

What's the difference?

Look at a tree that lived forever with harsh winds ripping through it. It is a testament to standing firm against brutality; misshapen where it had to yield, simply to survive the onslaught. Of course, the wind has no will, but it still gives a clue to what being bent versus molded is.

Look at a metal worker, who takes a sheet of metal and cuts it, and with varied tools literally bends it to the desired shape to fit their purpose. Compare to a sculptor, who with loving hands strokes a little water onto clay and smooths more clay on here, gently removes an unneeded bit there, until the piece is beautiful and fit for best use.

Either person gets what they desire from the process, if they are skillful. Yet, Jehovah is called the Great Potter, because, he is working with clay and he is more gentle with us, his clay that he formed into Man, than the Great Blacksmith would be with his metal.

Now, when it comes to refining, we are compared to silver. That is not about being bent to someone's will, though. That is about a process that takes a long time and is repeated over and over, until every impurity possible is removed. A continual removal from the filth of its former environment. As far as working with metal goes, it is one of the nicer things done, too.

When we pray to Jehovah to be refined, we can expect it to be challenging, at times. It's not as easy as being molded. However, the more one is molded to his will, the less refining one needs and the easier the refining will become.

These are just my morning thoughts, on a day after I looked at a big, huge problem in my life, defect in my personality, the trap of my flesh and other circumstances, and begged Jehovah that there is always supposed to be a way out, but where is mine, I can't see it. Then, ended up throwing away several things that were part of the trap and which.. hmm .. I probably should have seen as that, but did not.

That part of the solution was simple. If it takes- as in, if I remember it and live with it- it will make my refining process so much easier.

I hope you find your joy!
